Fantastic Chromatics gives students a chance to work on music in a swing style, in addition to working on notes of the chromatic scale. However, they should not be daunted by all of the accidentals in this work: this is also an excellent time to introduce them to the concept "enharmonic" notes. It's been my experience that, when a student looks at his part and sees a G-flat, he gets confused. If I ask him if he knows how to play an F-sharp, there's no problem, because he sees it more often. It is the same for students who are playing a D-flat versus C-sharp, and so on. 1st trumpet's highest note is an E.
